Perhaps not so many people know that Semarang that is located in Central Java Indonesia and it is actually the city of
Central Java, has been known as a furniture city or what they usually called meubel (read: furniture). There are a lot of

furniture factory there from local company and even foreign company, they produced furniture sofa, dinning table, bed set,
kitchen set and so on. The furniture sofa they produced is usually made of wood. However there are some also that are made by

rattan. The wood they use for sofa furniture usually is not as heavy as teak wood or what Indonesian people called Jati. The

Indonesia they called it Sengon wood. This wood is really light however it is content a lot of water or moist so it needs to

Local people were very depending on this business and they do a lot of export. Many foreign companies also try to put their
luck and put their investment in this business. However even the sofa furniture is not as booming as before, Semarang is

still survive with this business and still produce a lot of furniture sofa as well as other furniture products.
